Blue Shape One Design Regatta
May 29, 2010 - The first warning signal is scheduled for 1200 in the outer harbor. Racing will conclude at about 1530. Either around-the-buoys or Olympic-type course will be used.
Thursday Twilight
Thursday Twilight racing is three series.
- June series is June 3, June 10, June 17 and June 24, 2010 at 1800.
- July series is July 1, July 8, July 15 and July 22, 2010 at 1800.
- August series is August 12, August 19, August 26 and September 2, 2010 at 1800.
We are hosted by the Beverly Yacht Club. Traditionally we get two races in per evening on windward/leeward courses. Visitors are always welcome after racing in the club. The starting line for Thursday night racing is located in Marion's Sippican outer harbor.
Saturday Racing
There is racing on three Saturdays starting at 1130 in the outer harbor with 3 or more starts. Dates are June 26, July 24 and August 28, 2010. Either around-the-buoys or Olympic-type course will be used.
Van Rensselaer Trophy Race Day
July 11, 2010. This pursuit race is open to all single-hull Buzzards Bay yachts. No rating certificate is needed. Scratch sheets and starting times will be available at 0900 at BYC on the day of the race. The start will be in the vicinity of Sippican Harbor Lighted Red Buoy “2” (Fl R) at Centerboard Shoal (BYC mark “G”). Starting times for yatchs will commence at 1200.
Tower Race
July 30, 2010. This is an overnight race around Buzzards Bay Tower starting at 1800 in the vicinity of Sippican Harbor Lighted Red Buoy “2” (Fl R) at Centerboard Shoal (BYC mark “G”).
Champion of Champions
August 29, 2010. Champions from each one-design fleet will compete for 2010 in Shields. The representative of the J/80 fleet shall be the skipper with the best combined score in the following races: Blue Shape One-Design Regatta, all of the June and July Saturday races, the Van Rensesselaer Trophy Race and Buzzards Bay Regatta. The first warning signal will be at 0900.
Hurricane Cup
September 25, 2010. The start will be in the vicinity of Sippican Harbor Lighted Red Buoy “2” (Fl R) at Centerboard Shoal (BYC mark “G”). The first warning signal for handicapped yachts will be at 1200.
